We are a professional firm of Chartered Patent & European Trade Mark Attorneys who can offer you cost effective, fast, reliable and friendly IP services to safeguard and enforce your clients’ IP rights.
Our expertise
We are a specialist firm handling the filing and prosecution of patents, trademarks and designs in the UK and in the relevant European offices (European Patent Office and OHIM, the European Community Trademarks and Designs Office). We pride ourselves in providing the best possible outcome for your clients in all patent, trademark and design matters. We also advise and assist clients in validity and infringement matters, working where appropriate with other professionals in litigation matters.
Our firm was founded in 1989 by the senior partner, Keith J Loven, BSc (Eng), CPA, EPA, MITMA. Keith qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney in 1980, and has worked for a number of different UK patent attorney firms, with periods working in industrial patent departments. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, a Member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and a European Patent Attorney.
The firm has continued to expand and now consists of patent, trade mark and design teams of attorneys, technical assistants and qualified patent and trade mark administrators. The teams handle a wide range of technical subject matter, ranging from mechanical engineering, through electronics, computers/software, to chemical and biological.
How we work
We aim to provide a competitive fee schedule and are happy to provide quotations for specified work. We want to build long-term relationships rather than maximise short-term billing.
We make the best use of available technology to deliver an efficient personal service. We operate a paperless office with an advanced IP case management system to assist the flow of work. We file electronically directly with the UKIPO, the EPO and OHIM to secure instant filing dates for UK, European and International patent and trade mark applications. We also have access to a wide range of professional patent and trade mark databases for use in novelty, infringement and clearance investigations. We can also call upon the services of experts in related fields to assist in providing a full range of services.
We offer flexibility in communications – you can choose whether to receive documents by paper or electronically and we can communicate with you by e-mail, documents by mail, or fax – we are happy to tailor our service to suit the way you work. We can also hold Skype video/telephone meetings if preferred.
We provide you with direct access to the team handling your cases, with direct telephone and e-mail contact links to the responsible people. Our attorney / administrator teams provide consistent handling of all stages of our clients’ work, from preliminary advice and guidance, to the drafting and filing of patent, trade mark and design applications, prosecution, maintenance and renewal.
