Equinox enables you to set up tasks (although some are created automatically when a case is set up or updated). You will find detailed information in the Equinox Help File, see for example:

There are three types of task:
- Fatal – these are tasks where there is a fixed deadline where our failure to complete the task by the due date could lose the client rights. These generally are immovable, although in some cases an extension of time can be obtained;
- Standard – these are set in advance of Fatal tasks as reminders to us to take action;
- Backstop – these are just general reminders.
Tasks are allocated to specific team members – the fee earner will be responsible for fatal tasks, although responsibility for renewals may be delegated.
