2.6.2 Outgoing Post Procedure

Although most of our communications are sent by e-mail, the ordinary mail remains necessary for original documents, or for those clients that can’t handle e-mail.

  • Care should be taken to ensure that the correct postage is paid: weigh the item and check its destination against the current postage tables to determine the postage to be applied.  Insufficient postage may mean that the item is not delivered, or that the recipient will be asked to pay a penalty, which does not give a good impression of us!
  • Apply an airmail sticker if the item is being sent overseas – this includes the Republic of Ireland.
  • Use the address stamp to put the return address on the rear of the item.  This helps to get the item returned to us if undelivered, giving us an important indication of some change of status.
  • Ensure that the item is posted on the date it was created.
