Introduction <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The law and practice relating to the registration of UK trademarks is covered by the Trade Marks Act 1994, as amended (305Kb)<\/a>.  This is administered in accordance with the Trade Marks Rules 2008 (383Kb)<\/a> which came into force on 1 October 2008.  Please note that these rules revoke and replace the Trade Mark Rules 2000. The law relating to trade marks may also be affected by Statutory Instruments<\/a>. These are secondary legislation passed by parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
